This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit GoTradeSchools.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and what rights you have. This Site is intended for use by residents of the United States only. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals located outside the United States.

By using this Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

Hot Key Media LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates GoTradeSchools.com, an informational website that connects prospective students with trade school and career training programs. We are the Business responsible for determining how personal information is collected and used in connection with the Site.

2. What Information We Collect

2a. Information You Provide Directly

We do not operate any direct lead capture forms on this Site. All enrollment inquiry forms and request-for-information forms visible on the Site are hosted and operated by third-party schools, training providers, or their affiliate networks. When you submit one of those forms:

  • Your submission goes directly to the partner school or training provider operating that form.
  • We may receive a confirmation signal (such as a conversion event) indicating that a form submission occurred, for the purpose of tracking affiliate transactions. We do not receive or retain the personal details you entered.
  • The school or training provider that receives your submission is responsible for how they handle your data. To access, correct, or delete data you submitted through one of those forms, contact that partner directly.

2b. Usage Data Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, basic technical data is collected automatically. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and duration of your visit, and your device type and operating system. This data is used to understand how visitors interact with the Site and to maintain its functionality.

2c. Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics. Plausible does not use cookies, does not fingerprint individual users, and does not collect personally identifiable information. You can review Plausible’s data practices at https://plausible.io/data-policy.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other behavioral advertising or user-tracking technology on this Site.

2e. Contact Form Submissions

Our contact form is powered by FormSubmit (https://formsubmit.co), a third-party form processing service. When you submit the contact form, your submission (including any name, email address, or message you provide) is processed and delivered to us by FormSubmit. FormSubmit acts as a service provider and processes your data solely for the purpose of routing your message to us. We use the information you submit only to respond to your inquiry. FormSubmit’s data practices are governed by their privacy policy, available at https://formsubmit.co/privacy.

2d. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We do not intentionally set first-party cookies. Plausible Analytics, as noted above, operates without cookies. Embedded third-party forms from partner schools may set their own cookies or tracking technologies when loaded on the page. Those cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective partners. You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies at any time.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and maintain the Site
  • Verify and track affiliate transactions for payment purposes
  • Analyze aggregate traffic patterns to improve the Site
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising. We do not build profiles of individual users. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers. We may share data with vendors who assist us in operating the Site, such as hosting providers. These parties are contractually restricted to using data only for the purposes we specify.

Legal Compliance. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers. If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Note on “Sale” or “Sharing” Under State Privacy Laws. Some state privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly to include making data available to third parties even without direct payment. The third-party partner forms embedded on this Site may, by their operation, constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of data under this broad definition. We do not control the data practices of those partners. Please see Section 6 for your opt-out rights, and review the relevant partner’s privacy policy before submitting any form.

5. Data Retention

We retain Usage Data for no longer than 24 months unless a longer retention period is required to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute. We do not retain personal information submitted through partner-hosted forms, as that data is not received by us.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights. We honor these rights for residents of all U.S. states that have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy legislation, including California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), Montana (MCDPA), Iowa (ICDPA), Indiana (INDCDPA), Tennessee (TIPA), New Hampshire (NHPA), New Jersey (NJDPA), Nebraska (NDPA), and Kentucky (KCDPA).

Right to Know / Access. You may request a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how it is used.

Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.

Right to Delete. You may request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.

Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. You may direct us not to sell or share your personal information. Because we do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, this right primarily applies to data flows through the third-party partner forms described in Section 4. Note that because we do not receive the data entered into those forms, we cannot fulfill deletion or opt-out requests for that data on your behalf. Contact the relevant partner school directly.

Right to Opt Out of Targeted Advertising and Profiling. We do not conduct targeted advertising or automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. No action is required on your part.

Right to Data Portability. Where technically feasible, you may request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.

Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Right to Appeal. If we deny a rights request, you may appeal that decision by contacting us at the address below. We will respond to appeals within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Authorized Agents (California). California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit rights requests on their behalf. We will require written verification before honoring such a request.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request to https://gotradeschools.com/contact/. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law governing your request, typically 45 days with an option to extend by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary.

7. Children’s Privacy

This Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us at https://gotradeschools.com/contact/ and we will promptly delete it.

8. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site contains links to external websites and embedded content from third-party partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit before submitting personal information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by a prominent notice on the Site or, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
